Welcome to the Concert Program Generator, a professional tool designed to help music composers, arrangers, and directors create, edit, and export pristine, publication-ready concert programs.

🚀 Getting Started

• The application is structured into five intuitive sections corresponding to different parts of your concert program, accompanied by a live, real-time preview and PDF export target at the bottom.

• 📝 Section-by-Section Instructions

1. Concert Details

• Logo & Branding: Drag and drop your concert logo image directly into the designated drop zone, or click to browse and upload. Use the Remove Image button if you need to clear it.

• Event Information: Fill in your Concert Title, Date & Time, and Location.

• Header Font Color: Use the color picker to select a custom accent color for your program headers. Click Reset Default to revert to the standard professional blue (#0284c7).

• Conductors: Click + Add Conductor to list your concert conductors and optional roles (e.g., Guest Conductor). Names added here will automatically populate the conductor selection dropdowns in Section 2.

2. Program Repertoire

• Adding Pieces: Click + Add Blank Piece Row to insert a new composition slot.

• Editing Details: Directly type the piece title, composer, and arranger into the respective fields. Assign a conductor from the dropdown populated by Section 1.

• Reordering: Use the drag handle (☰) on the left of any piece row to drag and drop pieces into your desired performance order.

3. Performing Ensembles & Section Rosters

• Ensembles: Click + Add Ensemble to create performance groups (e.g., Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, String Orchestra).

• Footnote Keys / Legends: Toggle the Enable Footnote Keys / Legends checkbox on or off as needed. When enabled, define custom symbol keys (the application automatically formats them with an = and a "Denotes..." hint).

• Instrument Sections: Click + Add Instrument Section and select from the comprehensive dropdown of common band and orchestra instruments (or type a custom instrument name).

• Performers: Add individual performer names. If footnote keys are enabled, check the boxes next to a performer's name to assign section leader symbols (e.g., *, †).

4. Special Thanks

• Acknowledgments: Click + Add Acknowledgment Row to input names and roles/titles (e.g., Sponsorship provided by...). These automatically format with clean dot leaders in the final program layout.

5. Upcoming Concert Dates

• Future Performances: Click + Add Upcoming Date Row to list future concert events, using the built-in date-time selector and separate location text field.

💾 Project Management & Exporting

• Save Project: Click 💾 Save Project at the top right to download your entire concert setup as a JSON file, allowing you to edit and update it later.

• Open Project: Click 📂 Open Project to load a previously saved JSON project file.

• Dark Mode: Click 🌙 Dark Mode / ☀️ Light Mode to toggle your workspace interface theme.

• Export PDF: Click 📄 Export PDF to generate and download a multi-page, borderless US Letter PDF featuring custom typography (Julius One for titles and Open Sans for body text) with narrow margins and precise page layout breaks.

⚠️ Important: Saving and Privacy Notice

How to Save and Edit Your Work: Because this tool runs entirely within your web browser, the only way to save your charts to edit them in the future is to click the 💾 Save Project button. This downloads a small configuration file (.json) directly to your computer. To edit your chart later, simply click 📂 Open Project and upload that file back into the app.

• Complete Privacy: No information, roster data, or seating charts are saved by the developer personally. There are no user accounts, and no data is sent to or stored on external servers.

• Data Recovery: Because everything is stored locally on your device for maximum privacy, there is no way to access, recover, or restore charts if browser data is cleared or if you forget to download your saved file. Always make sure to download your .json file before closing your session if you plan to make changes later!
